Field Trips


Camel Trek, Walking Trip and Overnight 4x4 Excursion

Maximum 30 participants

Two Hours Camel Trek Field Trip:

The camel is the main source of survival of nomadic people in a hostile desert environment over centuries.

Aim:
Appreciating the interaction between the different physical and anthropological components of the camping site and aspect of the surroundings.

Program:
Sunset two hours camel trek to discover surroundings of Serbit El Khadem area

What you need to bring with you:

  • Warm, comfy clothing
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Small rucksack
  • Water bottle
  • First aid kit

Walking Field Trip:

  • Sunset two hours Walking trip to the top of Serabit El Khadem scarp using the Hexus road. Some time to explore the temple ruins.
  • Descend along the Pharonic road.
  • Stop for tea with the Bedouin people in Serabit El Khadem village.

Overnight Jeep Trip to St. Kathrine/ Dahab/Sharm El Sheikh:

  • A jeep will take you from Serbit El Khadem into the Sinai desert to explore some geomorphic sites.
  • At every turn the landscape changes as white sands become bright red and rocks reveal yellow and purples hues, your path will lead to an oasis where you will enjoy lunch with local Bedouin people.
  • Meanwhile, your Bedouin guides will erect the Bedouin tents - with carpets and sleeping mats on the ground. They will do this each night for you while on safari- in perfectly chosen locations (including 1 night at the eco-lodge).
  • The jeep safari will transfer you to St. Catherine's Monastery, set beneath Mount Sinai - where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments and the site of the biblical Burning Bush.
  • The trip will end in Sharm El Sheikh International Airport.
