The scientific
sessions will be organized in
the conference centre of Cairo University .
2. The Field Workshop Location:
The field workshop will be held in traditional "Bedouin" camp,
accommodation in traditional small tents, short tours by camels and overnight
excursion by 4X4 Jeep cars.
The location of the field workshop is beside The temple of Serabit
Al-Khadem and the nearby turquoise mines in
Sinai: This site is located at 29 ° 02' N and 33° 28' E about 40 kilometers to
the east of Abu Zanima Town and can be accessed
through a car track along WadiBaa'ba' and WadiGarf.
The distance from Cairo
International Airport to "Serbit El Khadem" area is about 210 km, and from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport to Serabit area is about 240 km ."Serabit el-Khadem"
the only ancient Egyptian temple in Sinai, is scheduled to appear on tourist
itinerary in the coming months. The temple was built in homage to Hat-Hor (the lady of Turquoise) in the 12th dynasty; it
juxtaposes a number of turquoise mining caves that were used in ancient times.
